LISA A. PIERCE SCHOLARSHIP

Lisa A. Pierce

Lisa was the Assistant Director for Leadership Programs at NJIT for two years when she passed away. She invested her time to improve the campus community, using her contagious smile, energy, and creative ideas. Her strong desire to promote leadership is exemplified in the Center for Student Leadership, which Lisa founded in 2002. The center is a space that provides resources and workshops for students to develop their leadership skills and abilities.


Her ACUI regional involvement was also significant. In addition to serving as a session presenter and a member of the leadership team, her greatest contribution was through her role as regional College Bowl coordinator. Lisa embraced the position with a creative energy that was not only felt throughout the region, but the entire association.


This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of dear colleague and friend, Lisa A. Pierce. Lisa treated everyone with the same level of respect, no matter who you were or what level position you held and challenged them to accomplish their goals and grow beyond their comfort zone.
